Acai (pronounced ah-sigh-ee) is a dark purple berry which comes from the Amazon rainforest where it has been used by the indigenous people of Brazil for hundreds of years.
Acai is one of the most nutritious foods on the planet and it well known for its powerful antioxidant properties, because it contains a high concentration of anthocyanins. Moreover, it also contains high levels of EFA's (Omega 6 and Omega 9 oils), Polythenols, Vitamins and Minerals.
