Bentonite is a natural powdered sedimentary clay (also known as montmorillonite) which comes from ancient deposits of volcanic ash. It is one of the best intestinal detoxifying agents available and has been recognized as such for centuries by native people around the world for thousands of years. It is one of the most effective and powerful healing clays used by indigenous cultures since before recorded history because of its healing benefits.

Bentonite Clay for Children:

Bentonite has many uses when it comes to children and one common use it as an addition to a warm bath.  This is due to the bentonite being able to draw toxins such as flouride from the water.  Bentonite Clay also draws toxins from the skin making it a very effective detox soak.

Bentonite works to assists the body’s eliminatory process by acting as a bulking agent, similar to psyllium fibre, sweeping out the old matter that doesn’t need to be there.  It is not digested in the same manner as food as it passes through the alimentary canal.  Instead, it stimulates intestinal peristalsis, the muscular contractions that move food and stools through the bowels.  The clay and the adsorbed toxins are both eliminated together; this keeps the toxins from being reabsorbed into the bloodstream.

The clays minerals are negatively charged whereas toxins are positively charged, hence the clays attraction works like a magnet, attracting and leaching toxins out of the body. When mixed with water, bentonite swells up (this is imperceptible to the naked eye) and becomes very porous like a sponge. The electrical and molecular components change and produce an electrical charge. The toxins are drawn into these spaces by electrical attraction and bound fast. Bentonite cannot be reabsorbed by the body so is completely safe with no side effects and very effective at removing all these unwanted toxins.

It is an effective and cleansing clay if used externally as a face mask, in the bath or externally as a clay poultice/wrap. Internally it can be added to water to make a liquid or hydrated bentonite or glazed upon food to help those with sensitive palates.

This is a premium clay, well used and loved by many customers over many years. Please ensure you buy clay of high and pure quality.

To use as a face mask — Mix 1-2 teaspoons with enough water to make a paste and apply to the skin. Leave to work for 10-15 minutes and rinse with clean warm water and pat the skin dry. Add a couple of drops of tea tree oil for added benefit for clearing spots.

To use in the bath — Add 2-3 tablespoons to the bath and mix thoroughly.

To use internally — It is generally advisable to start with 1 tablespoon of bentonite clay daily, mixed with a small amount of water/juice then gradually increase the dosage to no more than 4 tablespoons daily. Bentonite can also be combined with psyllium powder for the optimum cleanse.
